Beyoncé

Music

Nobody expected this to happen, absolutely no one. The one and only Beyoncé Knowles, also known as “Queen B” surprisingly released a whole new album. And to top it all off, she already made music videos for every single song that’s on it. All of them are absolute masterpieces and she surely proved why she’s become so successful. She secretly released her fifth studio album on Itunes, instead of promoting her new music for months like other artists usually to, hoping that this will increase record sales.

“I see music as more than just what I hear. When I’m connected to something, I immediately see a visual or a series of images that are tied to a feeling or an emotion, a memory from my childhood, thoughts about life, my dreams or my fantasies and they’re all connected to the music. And I think that’s one of the reasons why I wanted to do a visual album.” – Beyoncé

Everything that drowns me makes me wanna fly

Music

lishenho, li shen ho, lishen ho lishen ho, lishenho, li shen ho You’ve probably heard “Counting stars” by OneRepublic by now. Well, I hadn’t until a couple days ago, but ever since, I’m playing it over and over again. Especially “Everything that drowns me makes me wanna fly” and “Everything that kills me makes me feel alive” are lines that’ve been stuck in my head. Maybe the contrast in these sentences were noticeable for me, or maybe it is because those are quite familiar thoughts to me. I mean, don’t you want to succeed even more when everything in this world, in your eyes, works against you? And don’t you feel alive and great when you do something that’s against the rules or for example when you’re tipsy? – you can’t deny that an overconsumption of alcohol can lead to death – Besides, the melody of this song makes me feel happy and the words are so easy to sing along. Maybe I’ve put too much thought in this song, but I really felt like sharing it with you and I’m just curious about your thoughts.
What do you think of this song? Do you like it? Any other songs you currently like?
